The seminar will focus on road casualty statistics, covering the latest figures and an update on forthcoming changes to the STATS19 data system which forms the basis of police reported road collision and casualty data for Great Britain.
Matthew Tranter from the road safety statistics team at the Department for Transport team will present an overview of the provisional casualty figures for Great Britain in 2023 and look ahead to some forthcoming changes to the statistics.
Paul Baden, STATS19 database manager within the road safety statistics team will give an overview of progress in implementation of the latest updates to the collection following the most recent review of the system, and how this will lead to future improvements in the data and statistics.
