About Us
The Transport Statistics Users Group was formed in 1985, following an initiative by The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport and the Statistics Users Council.
The Transport Statistics Users Group is a UK body which aims to:
Identify problems in the provision and understanding of transport statistics and to discuss solutions with the responsible authorities
Provide a forum for the exchange of views and information between users and providers
Encourage the use of transport statistics through greater publicity
Facilitate a network for sharing ideas, information and expertise
Our Organisation
The TSUG is run by a management committee drawn from the members.
The committee consists of a Chair, and other committee members, who organise:

Seminars & Events
Seminars are held approximately once a month. The seminars cover contemporary issues in the field of transport statistics, and discuss emerging trends in transport behaviours, from technical experts in the field. See Seminars and Events for more information.
Most seminars are currently held online, with some hybrid seminars being held in London.
Members can attend seminars for free. See Membership for more information.
Newsletters
A regular newsletter containing news and reviews of matters relating to transport statistics and the TSUG membership is produced.
The newsletter is distributed to members approximately four times a year.
Collaboration
The Transport Statistics Division in the Department for Transport is keen to maintain and improve its links with users and it regards the Transport Statistics Users Group as an important forum in this context.
TSUG seminars provide the DfT with opportunities to present specific aspects of its statistical activity to those outside the DfT, to engage users in the National Statistics quality reviews and to seek feedback on its outputs.
The more representative TSUG is of all users of transport statistics, the more valuable it is to the DfT.
